While studying at Arizona State University, Mr. Sturgell was active in the Sports and Entertainment Law Society.  Mr. Sturgell also completed several internships with companies such as Avnet, Inc., International Management Group, and the Phoenix Coyotes.

Prior to co-founding Sturgell Johnson,
PLLC, Mr. Sturgell practiced Plaintiff's
personal injury law. Mr. Sturgell has
arbitrated over 150 personal injury cases, including automobile accidents, dog bites,
slip and falls and diminished resale
value cases.  He has recovered over one million dollars for his clients.*  Mr. Sturgell has also
participated in the mediation of cases
set for trial and represented clients 
in Maricopa County Superior Court as well as
United States District Court for the District
of Arizona.
 

Mr. Sturgell enjoys dogs, sports, and traveling in his spare time.  Mr. Sturgell is a volunteer tutor at Curry Elementary School in Tempe as part of the All Star Kids Tutoring program.

While at Arizona State, Mr. Johnson was an Associate Managing Editor of the Arizona State Law Journal, a Pedrick Scholar, a finalist in the Berch Oral Argument Competition, and he received a CALI Award for Excellence in Legal Writing.  He was a member of the Corporate and Business Law Society, as well as the Sports & Entertainment Law Students Association.  Mr. Johnson also completed an externship with The Honorable Roslyn O. Silver, United States District Judge. 
 
Prior to becoming a Plaintiff's attorney, Mr. Johnson was an insurance defense lawyer.  He gained valuable insight into the methods employed by insurance carriers by litigating auto accident, dog bite, and slip and fall cases on behalf of the insurance industry.  Mr. Johnson also practiced in the areas of estate planning, construction law, contracts, real estate, elder law, and general civil litigation. 

Mr. Johnson volunteers with Wills for Heroes, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, and Make a Difference.
